Mr. Reida was appointed to the Board on April 26, 2012. Since he was appointed during a legislative recess, he was confirmed by the Legislature during its next session on February 1, 2013. His term of office will end January 1, 2015. He is the Board’s designated attorney member. Mr. Reida lives in Omaha, Nebraska. He is currently the Board's Vice Chairman.
Mr. Reida received his Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln in 1976. He received his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska in 1981. He received a Juris Doctor degree, summa cum laude, from Creighton University in 1990. Mr. Reida was the Vice President for Customer Service and Chief Legal Officer for Energy Services Company in Omaha, Nebraska, from 2005 to 2013. From 1977 to 1987 he worked for the Nebraska Public Power District as an engineer. Following law school, he was an attorney with the Baird Holmlaw firm from 1990 to 2005.
Mr. Reida’s civic involvement includes membership and participation in the following activities: member of the Foundation Board for the Omaha Community Playhouse; member of the Creighton University Sustainability Committee; member of the Board of Engineers (Stationary Engineers) for the City of Omaha; and past member of the Joslyn Castle Trust board of directors; volunteer with the Douglas County Corrections Center life-long learning center; past board member and president of Landmarks, Inc. (educates public on the value of preserving architecturally significant structures); and past director, vice-president and pro bono legal counsel for the Nebraska Chorale Arts Society.
