Member
Mr. Morehouse's current term as a
member of the Power Review
Board
began on
January 2, 2010. He was appointed by Governor
Heineman and was confirmed during a Special Legislative Session on
November 10, 2009. His current term
will expire on January 1, 2014. He is the
Board’s designated accountant
member. Mr. Morehouse previously served as a member of the Power
Review Board from 1994 to 2004. Mr. Morehouse lives in
Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
Mr.
Morehouse graduated from the University of Nebraska with a bachelor's
degree in business administration in 1974. He subsequently
obtained a Management Development Certificate, also from the University
of Nebraska. He has also earned a Certificate of Educational
Achievement in Personal Financial Planning from the American Institute
of Certified Public Accountants and has achieved the designation of
Certified Financial Planner®.
Mr. Morehouse started his financial career in public accounting,
becoming a partner in a regional CPA firm. He currently serves as
president and manager of the Platte Valley Investment Center,
Inc. He has been providing financial guidance to
both business
and
individual clients since 1975.
An active member of his community, Mr. Morehouse has served as chairman
and director of the Regional West Foundation, treasurer and director of
the West Nebraska Blood Center, president and director of the
Scottsbluff-Gering United Chamber of Commerce, president and director
of the Scottsbluff-Gering United Way, director and treasurer of the
Riverside Zoological Society, member of the Regional West Center
Finance Committee, director for the West Nebraska Arts Center, and
member of various community task forces relating to economics and
community development.
